Applied Systems Analysis (ISTN31B) – 8 credits  

This module is part of the first IS major.

Offered at:  Westville (first semester), Pietermaritzburg (first semester)

Prerequisite Requirement:  ISTN211 and ISTN212

Corequisiste: ISTN31A

Aim:  To provide students with direct experience of the analysis and specification of a live system (major project).

Content:  Topics include application of Advanced Methods in Information Systems Analysis, Requirements Analysis & Specification, Software Quality Requirements and Feasibility.

Practicals:  Project work.

Assessment:  Group Project work and individual assignments (100%).
